Engage and hear stories about “Reconciliation, Redress, Remembering, and Resilience - Individual and collective stories of injustice and how we respond to it”.
Human libraries provide an exciting opportunity for the public to connect with diverse narratives and worldviews. At this event, instead of taking books off the shelves, participating “readers” will listen to human “books” and learn new perspectives and histories on reconciliation, healing, public memory, and resistance.
This event is FREE and all are welcome to attend. Please feel free to invite others!
If you'd like more information on becoming a "book" at the event, please contact Tracey Mitchell at [email protected]
Next Up is a leadership program for young people aged 18 to 32 who are committed to social and environmental justice initiatives and action. Next Up participants come from diverse backgrounds and have leadership aspirations in the non-profit sector, children and youth engagement, the environmental movement, First Nations, Métis, and Inuit communities, immigrant and refugee settlement, communities of faith, and many others.
Participants engage in a multiplicity of sessions which provide different voices, learning approaches, and skills such as storytelling, facilitation, and fundraising. By being connected with people in our communities who are involved in social and environmental justice, we are experiencing ways to collaborate and become allies for long-lasting, positive change.
