Next UP BC is proud to announce our winter community weekend intensive, a leadership program for young adults committed to building social and environmental justice movements.
Over three intense days, you will develop new skills and ideas, look at how social change is made in society and learn with changemakers who are doing great work in BC to build a more just province.

What will I learn?
You’ll learn more about yourself and your values, and about how to turn your ideas into action. You’ll be challenged with new ways of thinking. You’ll meet provocative guests who are leading social change in Vancouver and beyond. You’ll get new skills to help be more effective in your social change work.
Some of the topics we’ll explore include:
• Community and campaigns organizing
• Story & social change
• Theories of changemaking
• Anti-oppression and decolonization
• Understanding economics
• Purpose
It will take place:
December 9-11, 2016 - 10:00am to 5:00pm daily
CityStudio, 1800 Spyglass Place, Vancouver, BC

Cost:
$100.00 inclusive, lunch and refreshments provided.
Subsidies are available upon request.
We encourage applications from participants with children. Childcare subsidies may be available. Please indicate in your application form if you would like childcare support.
We encourage applications from people of all genders, Two-Spirit people, Indigenous peoples, people of colour, low-income earners and the unemployed, and people with disabilities. We acknowledge that systemic oppression and harsh realities of life may make participation difficult for some, and we will do our best to assist people who want to participate.

Spots for the winter intensive will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Please note that spaces are limited.
To be a participant in the Winter Intensive, you must:
1 - submit a complete application - download the application form here.
2 - reserve your spot though our online system - you'll get an email from us with instructions after downloading the application form (see step 1 above)
3 - pay the $100 registration fee through our online payment system - instructions will be in the email we send you

- Friday, Dec. 9 to Sunday, Dec. 11 – the program will run 10:00 am to 5:00 pm each of these days.
