Aliya recently graduated from the UofA with a degree in chemical biomedical engineering. She became passionate about social justice, international development, and food security during her internship in Ghana with Engineers Without Borders. Aliya is interested in reducing consumer food and petrochemical waste with improved engineering and behaviour change tools.
She enjoys most outdoor activities and has a particular affinity for cross country skiing, biking, and hiking. In her spare time, Aliya knits, reads DC comic books, and builds Batman Lego sets.
