Next Up Ontario is proud to announce a new weekend intensive workshop in Ottawa, Sustainable Leadership in Urgent Times, for young adults committed to building social and environmental justice movements.
Over three intense days, we will work to confront the uncertain times we live in by cultivating and refining the skills that make change possible. You’ll learn more about yourself and your values, and practice turning your ideas into action. Provocative guests leading social change in Ottawa and beyond will challenge you with new ways of thinking. You’ll share space with folks working for more just communities in different ways and will join a national network of past participants dedicated to fighting for social and environmental justice.
Some of the topics we’ll explore include:
- Anti-oppression and decolonization
- Community organizing and campaign building
- Theories of change-making
- Storytelling and purpose
- Radical self care and combating burnout
To participate in this program, you need to know this:
- Cost: $90 inclusive, lunch and refreshments provided. For those who are able, we are offering you the option to purchase a Solidarity SuperTicket at $135.00 to help subsidize others' participation.
- Dates: The program will run on March 2, 3, 4 from 10:00am to 5:00pm each day (you must be able to attend all three days).
- Location: TBD. All venues will be accessible by OC Transpo and in the downtown core.
- Application deadline EXTENDED: February 28 at 11:00am local time (see link below)
- Registration fee payment deadline EXTENDED: March 1 at 5:00pm local time.
- Note: If you need to cancel your registration, you must notify us by email by March 1 at 5:00pm local time. We cannot provide a refund after that date. Spaces in this workshop are limited so please let us know as soon as possible if you wish to cancel.
Once you submit your application we will reply to you by email ASAP to let you know if you are admitted to the program. After that, you'll need to pay your registration fee by the March 1st deadline. We will send you a link to the payment page. If we do not receive your payment by March 1st at 5:00pm local time you will not be admitted to the program. Thanks for your cooperation on this!
